2 to 3 links favorite fully cooked chicken sausage
1 (13.8-ounce) package unbaked pizza dough, such as Pillsbury regular, thin or whole-wheat
2 tablespoons pesto
5 mini red, orange or yellow peppers, stemmed and sliced
1⁄2 cup sliced red onion
1 cup (or more as desired) Italian-blend cheese, divided
3⁄4 cup grape tomatoes, halved
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Preheat oven to 400 F.

Slice the chicken sausages diagonally into 1/4-inch slices. Set aside.

Press the pizza dough into a round pizza pan or shape it on a baking sheet. With a rubber spatula or spoon, Smooth the pesto over pizza crust.

Arrange the peppers and onions on crust. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of the cheese. Arrange sausage slices and the grape tomato halves on top. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and a few grinds of the black pepper.

Bake in preheated oven for about 13 minutes or until crust is browned both on bottom and edges and cheese is melted. Remove from oven; let sit for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Makes 4 servings (2 slices each).
