Havurah Shir Hadash holds Musical Kabbalat Shabbat

The Havurah synagogue will hold its monthly Musical Kabbalat Shabbat at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at the Havurah, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. The event will be led by Rabbi David Zaslow and Cyrise Beatty Schacter and her band.

Center for Spiritual Living continues food drives

The Center For Spiritual Living will continue to participate with centers all over the world to collect food items as a part of its Global Heart Outreach Sunday by giving nonperishable goods to the local Access organization. People are asked to bring the food items each Sunday to the Center through Sept. 16.

Rev. Joy-Anne Fournier's sermon will follow the theme "Living in Harmony With All of Life" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Center, 1385 Lear Way, Medford

Parents and children interested in exploring their Jewish roots are invited to attend the Havurah's Sunday Hebrew School Open House from 1 to 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Havurah, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland.

Those interested in learning more about the Catholic faith are invited to a workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Sept. 19, in the parish hall adjacent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, at the corner of Oakdale and West 10th Street, Medford.

Attendees will learn about the Catholic faith and how to become a fully initiated Catholic. School-age children and teens will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Call 541-779-4661, ext. 105 for more information.
