September 11, 2012

ROGUE RIVER — Terry Schmidt had a hat trick as Rogue River romped past Milo Academy 5-2 on Monday in nonconference boys soccer at Rogue River High.

Schmidt got the Chieftains (2-0) started with a header goal, which he received on a well-placed corner kick from Jonathan Graham.

Schmidt struck again just before the intermission and later capped the Chieftains' afternoon with a goal in the 49th minute.

Graham scored perhaps the most impressive goal when he blasted one from 30 yards out into the upper right corner of the net on a free kick in the 43rd minute.

Shawn Donahue also scored in the opening minute of the second half for the Chieftains, who outshot Milo, 12-3.
