Take your old paint to the Web ... honest

I have 20 or so partial gallons of latex paint. Where can I bring these for proper disposal? A lengthy Internet search turned up nothing.

— Eric Iversen

Look no further, Eric. We here at Since You Asked are indeed the place for you to come. Wait, not to bring your old paint, but to get your question answered.

We first thought to contact Rogue Disposal & Recycling, which operates local landfills. They don't accept paint, but the kind folks there did direct us to the Paint Care website, www.paintcare.org.

Just type in your zip code, and away you go. The site lists several nearby businesses that accept paint drop-offs.

The business phone numbers — so you can confirm they do take the paint for sure and get specifics on their policies — and addresses are included on that list.

We called a couple businesses on a list the site gave us following a "97501" query, including the Rogue Valley Habitat Restore, just to make sure. They confirmed it.

You're welcome, Eric. We'll bill you promptly. We accept cookies.

Send questions to "Since You Asked," Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O. Box 1108, Medford, OR 97501; by fax to 541-776-4376; or by e-mail to youasked@mailtribune.com. We're sorry, but the volume of questions received prevents us from answering all of them.
