WHITE CITY — Mark Wauge went from last to first in the Modified A Main on Saturday to capture his eighth feature event at Southern Oregon Speedway and lay claim to the Modified Division Championship.
Matt Duste jumped out to an early lead as Waugue worked his way through the field. On laps 16 and 17, Wague and Duste raced around the track side by side until Wague was finally able to work his way into the lead on lap 18. Wague never fell behind again.
In other Speedway action Saturday, Josh King won the Dwarf Car A Main, Josh King won the Dwarf Car Trophy Dash, Tony Christopher prevailed in the Super 4's A Main, and Jamie Guider-Newberg won the Super 4's Trophy Dash. Randy Fernandes won the Mini Stocks A Main, and David Steele took the Mini Stocks Trophy Dash.
The Speedway's annual Topless 50, featuring modifieds and pro/mods going for a $1,000 purse with the roofs of their race cars removed, will be held next Saturday. The day will also include the final points races for the Butler Automotive Dwarf Cars, the KTVL Ring of Honor Mini Stocks, the Angelo's Pizza Super 4's and the Street Stocks.
