PROSPECT — Taylor Bernhardt and Heather Lass both excelled for Prospect but visiting Hosanna Christian handed the Cougars their first loss of the season with a 25-23, 25-23, 25-20 victory in Mountain Valley League volleyball action Friday.
"It was good volleyball," said Prospect coach Shelli Lass. "They were great matches. Both teams played good. They just made a couple less errors."
Bernhardt and Lass had nine kills and 12 blocks each. Lass also contributed 22 assists.
"(Bernhardt and Lass) were intense and played a good all-around game," said the Cougars coach.
Prospect fell to 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the MVL, while Hosanna stayed undefeated at 7-0 and 5-0 in league.
PAISLEY SWEEPS BUTTE FALLS — At Butte Falls, Paisley used strong defense and good passing to register a pair of four-set victories, 25-17, 25-17, 22-25, 25-21 and 25-18, 25-21, 23-25, 27-25.
Butte Falls was led by senior outside hitter Tamika Funk with 29 kills, 14 aces and 10 digs.
Joli Hobbs, the Loggers' senior setter, contributed 32 assists, 12 aces and seven digs, while sophomore setter Lisa Davis added nine assists, two digs and 10 aces. Freshman middle Raleigh Weaver had five blocks and four kills for Butte Falls (1-7, 0-5 MVL).
Paisley improved to 5-2 overall and 4-1 in MVL play.
