WHITE CITY — The final weekend of racing at Southern Oregon Speedway is Friday and Saturday.

The annual Battle at the Border will feature late models and a 4-cylinder open competition race.

Attendees may bring a non-perishable item to the races to be entered into a nightly drawing for a chance to win a ride in the "Scream Machine," a dirt modified that is fitted with two seats so that a passenger may ride alongside six-time track champion Mark Wauge.

The donations will go to U.S. troops on overseas missions.

Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m. each night.

Friday's admission is $15 for general admission and $10 for children ages 6-12, seniors (age 62 and up) and veterans with identification. Reserved seating is $20 and kids 6 and under are free.
