  • Crystal (Christy) Ann Duggins lost her short battle with cancer and passed away at her home in Gold Hill,Ore., on September 20, 2012.
Christy was born August 25, 1957, to MaryAnn and Truman Hefner in Long Beach, Calif. She remained in the Southern California area until the age of 14 when the family moved to Rogue River, Ore., where she attended Rogue River schools and met the love of her life.
On August 17, 1974, Christy married her high-school sweetheart and partner in life, Paul Duggins. They made their home in Southern Oregon where they welcomed their first child, Anthony Paul. In the spring of 1976, they moved to Alaska where they had their daughter, Angela Marie. Shortly thereafter, they returned to Southern Oregon to make their home and raise their family.
Christy's home was her castle in which she enjoyed decorating with collected Native American dolls and dcor. She also enjoyed being outside where she toiled in the yard and garden.
Above all else, she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Christy was loved by many. Her sincere smile, contagious laugh, and caring eyes always lit up a room. We should all be comforted in knowing that we now have an angel above looking down on us smiling.
Christy is survived by her husband of 38 years, Paul Duggins; children, Anthony Duggins and Angela Luna; grandchildren, Alexis, Issabella, Isaac, Robert, Gina, and Jordan; brother, Wally Hefner; sister and best friend, Shelly DeVita; uncles, Delmar Brink and Danny Stone; and aunt, Nina Hefner.
Christy was preceded in death by her grandma, Bertha Stone; father, Truman Hefner; mother, MaryAnn Hefner; and uncle, Jim Brink.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at the Rogue River VFW Hall at 3:00 pm.
Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives is in charge of arrangements. To send an online condolence to the family go to www.grantspassfunerals.com.
