Larry Lee Parducci, beloved husband, father, and grand-father passed away on September 24, 2012, at age 68 after a brave battle with cancer. He was born in Ukiah, Calif. July 30, 1944, to Vernon and Edith Parducci and grew up on the Parducci Family Ranch working at the winery. He attended the University of Oregon on a baseball scholarship and graduated from Sonoma State with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.
On June 11, 1966, he married Joyce Bond from Fort Bragg, Calif., and they moved to Alabama for three years where he was an Air Traffic Controller in the U.S. Army. After the Army he and his wife and family relocated to Oregon in 1976, and eventually settled in Southern Oregon in 1986, when they purchased the Holiday RV Park in Phoenix. He was an active member of the Phoenix community serving on the planning commission, city council, and then as mayor for eight years. He also served as a bank director for Valley of the Rogue Bank and Umpqua Bank for seven years.
He and his wife were members of the Phoenix Booster Club and enthusiastically supported their son, Ken, and daughter, Kim's sports' teams. Later in life, one of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren, and they loved their 'Papa'.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Ken (wife Noel); daughter, Kim (husband Kyle); six very special grandchildren, Ava, Kristian, Kayden, Case, Cali, and Lane; and his two brothers, Harry and Don and their families. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 11:00am at Perl Funeral Home and Siskiyou Memorial Park in Medford. Contributions in his name may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America.
