WEDDINGTON, N.C. — Jason Allred carded a 1-under-par 71 in the first round of the Web.com Tour's Chiquita Classic at the Club at Longview on Thursday.
The Ashland native's round put him in a tie for 76th and will need to make up ground to make the cut.
Allred broke an 11-hole par streak with a birdie on No. 12 then added another on No. 16. His only dropped shot was a bogey on the 17th hole.
The top of the leaderboard is in a logjam after the opener with six players shooting 66s. Russell Henley, Skip Kendall, Will Wilcox, Jason Kokrak, Scott Dunlap and Lee Jansen all have a share of the lead.
