    Ethelmae (Nov. 10, 1918-Jan. 15, 2012) lived at Linda Vista Care Center in Ashland, Ore. She was born in Montague, Calif., the daughter of Frances and John Thompson. She moved with her family to Gold Hill, Ore., in 1921 and soon settled in Ashland, Ore. Tommie attended Ashland schools and graduated in 1937. She attended Southern Oregon College from 1937 to 1938, earning a bachelor of arts degree. then embarked upon her nursing career.
    Following graduation from EHSN she served in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps from 1944 to 1945. On April 28, 1945, Tommie married Tony Kanclier. They lived in Ashland, Ore., where she worked for the Jackson County Health Department from 1949 to 1971.
    Tommie is survied by her husband, Anthony John "Tony" Kanclier of Ashland.
    Information was provided by Marsha Svenson Bryant '73, who wrote that Tommie inspried her to become a nurse. That's a wonderful legacy.
