Mannion named player of the week

Oregon State Beavers quarterback Sean Mannion has been named Pac-12 football offensive player of the week after helping lead the Beavers to a 38-35 victory at Arizona on Saturday night.

Mannion completed 29 of 45 passes for a career-high 433 yards and three touchdowns, and he was 6 of 6 on the game-winning drive that culminated in his nine-yard TD pass to Connor Hamlett. A sophomore and team captain from Pleasanton, Calif., Mannion has thrown for career highs in back-to-back games. He compiled 379 yards against UCLA.

His 433-yard passing performance represents the fifth-highest single-game total in school history.
