  • The Medford Food Co-op will donate 1 percent of its sales to the No Kid Hungry charity Saturday, Oct. 13, in conjunction with World Food Day.
The event is part of the Share Our Strength program, which has a goal of ending childhood hunger worldwide by 2015, according to a news release. Nationwide, co-ops hope to raise $100,000 for the effort.
Some proceeds will also go to the Maslow Project locally, which will fund the purchase of warm clothing, sleeping bags, personal hygiene items and non-perishable food for homeless youth.
