Medford Fire-Rescue hosts open house

Medford Fire-Rescue will host an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Fire Station No. 4, 2208 Table Rock Road, which is near the Railroad Park.

The event is free and open to the public, and will kick off Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 7 through 13.

Attendees will get to meet department personnel, learn about what a day in the life of a firefighter looks like and get tips on how to protect their home and property from fire.

Fire engines and equipment will be on display and crews will demonstrate how vehicle extrication tools and the aerial ladder truck work. People can take fire extinguisher training and fire safety classes.
