  • ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum explores the culture of yeast and other microbes active in food production.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., explore the wonderful world of microbes at a family fermentation festival that includes presentations about fermented sodas, kombucha, kimchi, sourdough, yogurt and more. The activities are free with paid admission to the museum at 1500 E. Main St. Admission is $7.50, $5 for children ages 2 to 12 and adults older than 65.
At 7 p.m. the museum gets turned over to the grown-ups for the annual Brews and Boogie fundraiser. Local breweries will offer beer samples, and appetizers will be served. Hamfist, Sage Meadows and High Country and LOVEBITE all perform. Enjoy the drinks, music and the hands-on science displays.
Tickets for the evening event cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Call 541-482-6767.
