  • Medford Police Department officers and Jackson County Sheriff's deputies will serve food at Red Robin as part of a national Tip-A-Cop fundraiser for Special Olympics.
Officers will serve meals and collect tips from restaurant guests from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. A majority of the money raised will stay in the Rogue Valley to support the local Special Olympics program, organizers said.
Over the past four years, the Medford Police Department has been among the top law enforcement agencies rasing money for Special Olympics through this program. In 2011 MPD raised more than $5,300.
Special Olympics is an international organization that provides people with intellectual disabilities a chance to realize their potential, develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy and friendship.
