Raiders fall to No. 1 Concordia

PORTLAND — Top-ranked Concordia scored a pair of goals in the first 20 minutes as the Cavaliers defeated Southern Oregon 2-0 in a Cascade Collegiate Conference soccer match Sunday afternoon at Tuominen Yard.

Jasmine Ayala put Concordia (9-0-2, 3-0 CCC) on the board in the 18th minute, taking a pass from Hannah Kimsey through the middle and cutting inside for the 18-yard score. The duo switched roles on a goal less than two minutes later, as Ayala passed to Kimsey for the nine-yard shot into the upper corner of the net.

Southern Oregon (6-4-2, 2-1-1 CCC) finished with eight shots in the match, an even split of four in each period, while Concordia tallied eight total shots. Katelyn Allen played all 90 minutes in goal for the Raiders, picking up five saves. Chloe Welch led SOU with three shots, while Megan McArthur finished with a pair of shots on goal.
