    John Esqueda, Phoenix boys soccer
    The junior midfielder tallied a whopping five goals as the Pirates remained unbeaten against Class 4A competition and downed North Valley 8-2 in Skyline Conference play.
    Adrian Garcia, South Medford football
    The senior wide receiver starred on both sides of the ball in a 23-22 win over Roseburg, catching TD passes of 28 and 38 yards during a six-catch, 97-yard effort. He also made three interceptions.
    Evan Hisey, North Medford football
    The senior running back had a monster game in the Black Tornado’s 26-20 Southwest Conference loss to Thurston, rushing for 235 yards on 24 carries. He scored from the 3 to pull North within 19-17.
    Connor Kaegi, Ashland football
    The senior made his first varsity start in a 55-0 win over North Eugene. He completed 9 of 14 passes for 186 yards, including a 33-yard scoring strike.
    Gracie Tostenson, Crater girls cross country
    The junior won her second straight State of Jefferson title, helping the Comets to second place. She covered the 5,000 meters in 19 minutes, 27.66 seconds, four seconds faster than last year.
