Learn how to alleviate pain with mind-body therapies

Breaking Free of Chronic Pain classes begin from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 15 through Nov. 19, at 258 A St., No. 12, Ashland, and Wednesdays, Oct. 17 through Nov. 21, at 33 N. Central Ave., second floor, Medford.

The program focuses on alleviating physical and emotional pain as well as mental distress using mind-body therapies.

The cost is $15 per class, and a sliding scale is available. To register, call Laura Winslow at 541-210-1952.

Medford seeks volunteers for numerous boards

The Medford City Council is looking for people to serve on a variety of commissions and committees, including the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, Budget Committee, Cemetery Commission, Parking Commission and others.

A complete list is available at Terms range from two to four years.

Application forms are available at the city manager's office at City Hall, 411 W. Eighth St., and will be accepted until Oct. 31.

Those applying must live in Medford in most cases.
