ASHLAND — The Ashland boys water polo squad swept through both of its matches on Sunday at Southern Oregon University.
The boys topped Cottage Grove 13-4 and South Eugene, 11-9. On the girls side, the Grizzlies were edged by South Eugene, 11-9.
The Ashland boys received three goals apiece from Nathan Markovich and Jericho Walker-Roberts against Cottage Grove. Hoku Eggertsen and Cole Harding both pitched in a pair of goals.
Against South Eugene, the Grizzlies received four goals from Eggertsen and two from Tristan Gavin.
The Grizzly girls were led by Sabrina Scoggin's two goals.
Goalie Kayla Boehm tallied eight saves in the contest.
MEDFORD BOYS, GIRLS SWEPT — At Ashland, the Medford boys squad received 21 goals from Reid Gibson, but the team fell short in its three matches at Southern Oregon University.
Cottage Grove claimed a 14-10 victory, Sheldon won 16-11 and South Eugene triumphed 17-8.
For Medford, Calvin Buchholz scored five goals and goalie Walker Drew registered 14 saves.
