  • The St. Mary's boys soccer team topped Cascade Christian 7-1 in their first Southern Cascade Hybrid meeting of the year at U.S. Cellular Community Park on Tuesday.
    St. Mary's William Lee scored in the first four minutes on a pass from Michael Gambee. Cascade Christian (2-8, 1-4 SCH) evened the score on a successful penalty kick by Kallen Reichburg in the 15th minute before the Crusaders (5-5, 4-0 SCH) rattled off six unanswered goals.
    Hunter Rothfus and Gambee each scored two goals for St. Mary's, which led 3-1 at halftime. Derek Reynolds, who played goalkeeper during the first half, came out in the second half and contributed a goal and two assists.
    Bryce Parsons added a goal and Nathan Hoyt and Renzo Marchini each had assists.
    Justin Hawkins protected the St. Mary's goal in the second half.
    "There were a lot of fans," Coughlin said. "This game is something we want to keep going."
    Cascade Christian has a team for the first time since 1999.
    CANYONVILLE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 5, ILLINOIS VALLEY 1 — At Cave Junction, Emanuel Stand and Clement Dushimimana had two goals apiece for Canyonville Christian in District 2 play.
    Illinois Valley (4-6-1, 2-3 Dist. 2) trailed 2-1 at halftime against the Pilots (5-1, 4-1).
    • ROGUE RIVER 3, LAKEVIEW 2 — At Lakeview, Lakeview (4-2-1, 3-1) edged Rogue River (6-5, 3-3) in Southern Cascade Hybrid play.
    • PHOENIX 5, HIDDEN VALLEY 2 — At Talent, Eli Espana had two goals and an assist and Johnny Esqueda added a goal and two assists for Phoenix in Skyline action.
    Alex Vela turned in a goal and an assist, Jose Alegria scored and Jesus DeLaCruz added an assist for the Pirates (8-1-1, 7-0 Sky), who led 2-1 at halftime.
    Zach Perrin put North Valley (2-7-1, 0-7 Sky) on the scoreboard first with a goal in the 23rd minute. Jacob Pendleton scored for the Knights in the 49th.
    Phoenix goalkeeper Hector Rocha recorded one save on three shots.
    MAZAMA 3, NORTH VALLEY 1 — At Klamath Falls, Juan Perez scored two goals and assisted on the third to lead Mazama in the Skyline game.
    Perez scored in the sixth and 39th minutes for the Vikings (7-3-1, 4-3 Sky) and assisted on a goal by Luis Valdez in the 13th minute.
    The Knights' (5-5, 2-5) score came from Colby Vest in the 16th minute.
    HIDDEN VALLEY 6, PHOENIX 0 — At Murphy, Cedar Wilkening and Emily Murphy each scored a pair of goals for Hidden Valley at District Field.
    The Mustangs (7-4, 4-3 Sky) scored three goals in a five-minute span of the first half and led 5-0 at halftime.
    Stephanie Tibbits and Dakota Carpenter also scored against Phoenix (1-10, 0-7).
    MAZAMA 4, NORTH VALLEY 1 — At Merlin, Mazama, ranked No. 1 in the 4A power rankings, outshot North Valley 20-10 in the Skyline win.
    Kylie Durant's goal in the 14th minute gave Mazama (6-0 Skyline) a 2-0 lead at the half.
    Kaitlin Crowell made it 3-0 in the 50th before Venessa D'Arpino put North Valley (6-4-1, 3-4) on the board in the 54th.
    Mazama's Hannah Reynolds completed the scoring in the 77th.
