Nick Meyer's third rushing touchdown of the football game with 2:05 to go proved to be the winning score as Etna rallied for a 25-20 nonleague win over St. Mary's in the season finale Saturday at Spiegelberg Stadium.
Glenn Alvarez opened the scoring for the Crusaders (7-2) with a 35-yard touchdown run but Etna responded with 19 straight points.
St. Mary's responded with a 10-yard TD run by Anthony Bonsi in the third quarter and a 39-yard run to the end zone by Calvin Roberts in the fourth to take a 20-19 lead. After Etna answered, the Crusaders advanced the ball to the Etna 40 before turning the ball over on downs with a pair of incomplete passes.
Roberts paced a ground game that amassed 198 yards with seven carries for 79 yards, while Bonsi added 67 yards on 10 carries.
