Musical Kabbalat Shabbat scheduled at Havurah

The Havurah will hold its monthly Musical Kabbalat Shabbat at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. The event will be led by Rabbi David Zaslow and Cyrise Beatty Schacter and her band.

Free bagel and lox Tish 'n' Nosh set at the Havurah

Rabbi David Zaslow will lead a free bagel and lox Tish 'n' Nosh brunch at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Havurah, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland.

A Tish 'n' Nosh is an old Hassidic custom of gathering around the rabbi's table for a small meal and a teaching in an informal setting. The topic of the talk will be "Am I My Brother's Keeper?"

Unity in Ashland features guest speaker Sunday

Rev. Kim Kaiser from the Center for Spiritual Living in Santa Rosa, Calif., will be the featured guest at Unity in Ashland at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Havurah, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland.

Sermon presents ways to maintain spiritual path

Susan van der Veen will deliver a sermon entitled "Riding the New York Subway and Other Ways to Maintain Your Spiritual Path" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4., at the Center for Spiritual Living, 1385 Lear Way, Medford. A children's program will be held during the services.

Will Richardson will lead a discussion of book one of Neale Donald Walsch's "Conversations with God" from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the center. Richardson has worked with the author for more than 17 years.

Four churches sponsor free concert at SOU Nov. 7

Grammy-nominated singer Jennifer Knapp will perform during a night of music and musings on being a gay person of faith in a free concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the Rogue River Room of the Southern Oregon University Stevenson Union, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland.

The concert is sponsored by First Presbyterian Church of Ashland, Ashland First Congregational United Church of Christ, Trinity Episcopal Church of Ashland, First United Methodist Church of Ashland and SOU's Queer Resource Center. Call 609-933-4000.
