LAKEVIEW — The unscathed Cascade Christian football team showcased why it is far-and-away the top squad in the Southern Cascade Hybrid during a contest featuring the league's two best on Friday.
The Challengers ruled the field on both sides of the ball, Brandon Williams turned in three touchdowns and Cascade Christian wrapped up the SCH crown with a 42-7 victory at Lakeview High.
"They had a workmanlike attitude but didn't play with as much emotion as we would have liked," said Challengers coach Jon Gettman. "But we came out and executed and were able to score just about every time we touched (the ball)."
Cascade Christian finished the regular season with a mark of 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the SCH.
Williams got going early with back-to-back touchdown runs of 65 and 20 yards in the opening quarter. He also returned an interception 57 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
Williams rushed for 151 yards on just 12 carries for the Challengers, while Levi Girardot added 63 yards on 13 totes and a touchdown.
Seth Knox hauled in a 16-yard touchdown from Daniel Scottow to put the Challengers up 28-0 by halftime.
Daniel Grissom put the game away with a fumble recovery in the end zone for another Cascade Christian touchdown.
Cody Parker had two interceptions for the Challengers. David Sellers recorded six tackles and recovered a fumble, and Dante Olson registered seven tackles, two going for losses.

ILLINOIS VALLEY 17, ROGUE RIVER 16 — At Rogue River, Illinois Valley scored the final 10 points, including the winning touchdown on a 23-yard pass from Josh Allen to TJ Hughey with 26 seconds remaining in the game played in muddy conditions.
Rogue River (3-6, 0-3 SCH) took an 8-7 lead when Seth Gretz hauled in a 11-yard TD pass from Andy Valencia at the beginning of the fourth quarter and Andy Valencia ran in the 2-point conversion.
Then Alex Valencia upped the Chieftains' margin to 16-7 on a 16-yard run and a 2-point reception from Andy Valencia with 8:19 left.
Gabe Miller led Illinois Valley (4-6, 1-2) with 74 yards on 22 rushes.
For Rogue River, Alex Valencia had 21 carries for 53 yards.

PROSPECT 52, BUTTE FALLS 18 — At Butte Falls, running back Scotty Kennedy rushed for three touchdowns and quarterback Boston Ehlers had 170 rushing yards and two scores for Prospect in District 2 play.
Kennedy finished with 74 rushing yards on eight carries, including touchdown runs of 20, 22 and 3 yards.
Ehlers, who was 5-of-6 passing, ran the ball nine times and scored on carries for 70 and 45 yards for the Cougars (6-4, 5-4 Dist. 2), who led 44-6 at halftime.
Evan Jermain ran for 96 yards on seven carries and a touchdown and Kyle Roe had a 65 yard fumble return for a score against Butte Falls (0-10, 0-9 Dist. 2).
