Rogue River infrastructure work measure is passing

Measure 15-117 was passing 56.8 percent to 43.2 percent at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday

It looks like Rogue River will get up to $1.6 million in infrastructure improvements, if early election returns hold steady through the final counting.

As of 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Measure 15-117 was passing by 56.8 percent, or 384 votes, compared to 43.2 percent against, or 292 votes.

The measure will raise up to $1.6 million over a period of 20 years and cover construction and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, landscaping, bicycle lanes and lighting on the city's street system.

Property owners would pay an estimated tax of 68 cents per $1,000 of assessed value, or about $102 a year on a property assessed at $150,000.
