  • "West Coast Live" returns to Ashland this week to broadcast a show from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Angus Bowmer Theatre.
The show will be taped from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. before a live audience, then broadcast on National Public Radio stations — including Jefferson Public Radio — the following day. Locally, it airs at 3 p.m. Saturdays at KSMF 89.1 FM.
Tickets are $25 and available at ijpr.org, at Paddington Station in downtown Ashland, or by calling 1-877-646-4TIX.
Guests for Friday's show will be Jonathan Evison, author of the bestselling novel "West of Here," whose latest work, "The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving," ponders life's surprises as well as the heart's capacity to mend; Eight Dollar Mountain, a Southern Oregon bluegrass band that will perform tunes from its new album, "Riverboat Gambler"; and Mike Greensill, one of San Francisco's premier jazz and cabaret piano players who will be joined by local musicians Joe Cohoon on bass and Ed Dunsavage on guitar.
