Medford Cruise, Rotary donate to nine charities

The Greater Medford Rotary Club and the Medford Cruise have donated nearly $15,000 to nine local organizations. The funds were proceeds from last summer's Medford Cruise events.

Organizations receiving donations include the Boys and Girls Club of Talent, $6,500; St. Vincent de Paul of Medford, $2,000; Medford Parks and Recreation Outdoor Adventure Club, $1,038; Rogue Youth Leadership Award scholarships, $1,000; the Wings Program, $1,000; Soda Blaster graffiti removal/Eagle Point High, $1,000; Salvation Army's after-school program, $1,000; the Rogue Community College Foundation automotive scholarship fund, $900; and 4-H and high school ensemble choir, $500.

Since it began 27 years ago, the Medford Cruise has donated about $322,000 to local youth programs. The Medford Cruise started in 1985 when local car enthusiasts brought car clubs together to cruise downtown Medford. The cruise is now organized by the Medford Cruise Association.


RCC invites high school students to presentation

High school students are invited to a presentation on college admissions from 5:45 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Rogue Community College.

College Nights Oregon will be held at the Medford and Grants Pass campuses. The Medford event will be held at the RCC/SOU Higher Education Center, 101 S. Bartlett St.

Students can get free information about registering for college. There will be workshops on financial aid, the admissions process and scholarships. Free pizza and soda will be available. There also will be a chance to win a $500 scholarship.

Kids Unlimited need Thanksgiving volunteers

Kids Unlimited seeks volunteers and donations for its annual Thanksgiving dinner for kids and their families. The event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the center, 821 N. Riverside, Medford.

Rogue Valley ManorMen's Group to honor vets

The Rogue Valley Manor Men's Group plans a presentation honoring veterans from all conflicts at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the Manor Auditorium (original building), 1200 Mira Mar Ave., Medford. All veterans and their families are welcome.
