BEAVERTON — Lewy Kurach scored five goals and goalkeeper Miles Furuichi had 13 blocks, three assists and three steals as the Ashland High boys water polo team beat Summit 11-7 in the state semifinals Friday at Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center.
Ashland will face West Albany at 4:15 p.m. today in a rematch of last year's state championship match, which the Grizzlies won. The Southern League rivals also split their season series.
Also for the Grizzlies on Friday, Hoku Eggertsen scored two goals and added four steals, and Jericho Walker-Roberts had two goals and three steals. Cole Harding scored twice and added an assist and a steal.
The Grizzlies are coached by Andrew Del Carlo.
