Arthur W. Larson, born October 15, 1934, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 6, 2012. He was born and raised in Colorado.

He served in both the Navy and Marines, including tours in Korea and Vietnam. He spent 25 years working as a substance abuse counselor, accredited both on the state and national level. For the last 20 years he partnered with Jackson County courts to provide evaluations for DUII offenders. AW was an avid sportsman. He was a life member of Oregon Hunters, the N.R.A., and was a competitive marksman. He and his wife spent much of their time traveling, fishing, and camping. With 30 years of sobriety AW was a staunch supporter of the AA community and he will be sorely missed.

His greatest passion was his family. There are no words to describe the void his passing will leave in our lives. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Owens Larson; sons, Kenneth Owens, of Eagle Point; Karl Owens, of Cottage Grove; Keven Owens, of Black Foot, Idaho; and Kristopher Owens, of Eagle Point. AW loved and cherished his daughters-in-law, 11 grandsons, and two granddaughters. He is also survived by his father, Merl Larson, who is 101 years old, and his sister, Francis Watson, both of Puyallup, Wash.; AW's eldest son, Arthur W. Larson II and his children live in California.

There will be a memorial celebration Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Trail Christian Fellowship, 18881 Hwy. 62, Eagle Point, OR 97524. In lieu of flowers donations to the Red Cross would be greatly appreciated.
