Photos by homeless local children to be on display

Photos taken by homeless Medford children will be on display at a "Meet the Young Artist" celebration to be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at TC Chevrolet, 2045 Highway 99, Ashland.

Photojournalist Linda Solomon taught the children photography skills at The Salvation Army Hope House earlier this fall and will be at the event.

Fifteen children, ages 5 to 13, living at Hope House, were given the assignment to capture their hopes and dreams on film.

Their photographs will be featured on holiday greeting cards, which will be available for purchase.

All proceeds from the sale of the cards will benefit the individuals and families residing at Hope House, The Salvation Army's transitional living facility for homeless men, women and children.

The photos also will be enlarged on canvas and auctioned to raise funds for The Salvation Army.

Gourmet food will be served and the children will receive gifts courtesy of TC Chevrolet.
