  • Robert E. Johnsen, 89, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Rogue Regional Medical Center.
    At 17, Robert entered the U.S. Navy and was assigned to the USS Rigel, which was in dry dock at Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941, where he got a first-hand view of the attack. After his tour of duty he returned to his place of birth, Alamo, Calif. and worked in the swimming pool business as a contractor.
    He met and married his wife, Bonnie Lee in 1957, and in 1961 they moved the family to Oregon where he worked in construction and loved the challenge of making something out of nothing.
    Robert leaves behind many family members including four children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
    There will be a graveside service Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Eagle Point National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Dave Price of Table Rock Bible Church officiating.
    Donations in Robert's name may be made to the charity of your choice.
