Talent Historical Society to meet at 2 p.m. on Saturday

The Talent Historical Society will hold its annual meeting at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at the museum, 105 Market St., in Talent. Leta Neiderheiser, author of a new book about pioneer Jesse Applegate, will be the main speaker.

The southern route to Oregon, the Applegate Trail, was laid out by Levi Scott and Lindsay and Jesse Applegate, and the Applegate Valley was named after Lindsay Applegate, whose last residence was in Ashland.

Copies of Neiderheiser's book will be available at the meeting.

A short review of the activities of the Talent Historical Society for the past year will be presented, and light refreshments will be provided.


Ashland Siskiyou School's WinterFaire is Saturday

The Siskiyou School's annual WinterFaire will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at 631 Clay St., Ashland.

Attendees can partake in a variety of activities, including beeswax candle-dipping and other crafts, treats in the Crystal Cookie Room and visiting the Fairy Queen's magical throne room.

More than 25 vendors will be on the site.

Fall Uncorked wine tour in Applegate set for Sunday

The Applegate Wine Trail's self-guided Fall Uncorked wine tour will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at 17 wineries in the Applegate area.

Tickets cost $39 each, which includes a commemorative wine glass.

Each winery will offer an appetizer and wine to taste.
