  • The Talent Historical Society will hold its annual meeting at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at the museum, 105 Market St., in Talent. Leta Neiderheiser, author of a new book about pioneer Jesse Applegate, will be the main speaker.
The southern route to Oregon, the Applegate Trail, was laid out by Levi Scott and Lindsay and Jesse Applegate, and the Applegate Valley was named after Lindsay Applegate, whose last residence was in Ashland.
Copies of Neiderheiser's book will be available at the meeting.
A short review of the activities of the Talent Historical Society for the past year will be presented, and light refreshments will be provided.
