Sign up for emergency alerts

Ashland residents who sign up for citizen alerts can also walk away with a treat from Ashland's Community Emergency Response Team on select days.

Individuals who sign up between 3 and 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Creekside Pizza will receive a free slice. Those who sign up between 4 and 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Zoey's Cafe will receive a free scoop of ice cream.

The alerts, which include emails or calls to home, business or cell phone, notify participants of emergencies such as floods, fires or other immediate hazards. Non-emergency alerts about missing persons, power outages and road construction also can be sent. The service is available for all residents of Jackson County.

Those interested can sign up online at Click on the Citizen Alert link and complete the information.
