Grange Co-op board member Vernon Gebhard has been inducted into the Agricultural Cooperative Council of Oregon Hall of Fame.
Gebhard was born and raised near Central Point and graduated from Crater High in 1952. In 1956, he graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in fish and wildlife. In 1959, after serving as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, he returned to the Central Point area with his wife, Lenore, and started farming. The family farm operated by Gebhard, his son Brian, and grandson Kyle, includes beef cattle, alfalfa hay and grain.
In 1965, Gebhard was elected to the Grange Cooperative Board. He served several years as secretary/treasurer before becoming chairman of the board, a role he served in for 16 years. In all, he has served on the Grange Co-op board of directors for 48-consecutive years.
Pamela Turnipseed has joined D.A. Davidson & Co. as a financial consultant in the firm's Medford office. Turnipseed joins Davidson from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, where she has worked since 1999. She previously operated her own structured settlement firm in Hawaii. Turnipseed received her education from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
TC Chevy in Ashland has named Bob Spomer service manager. Spomer has more than 30 years experience with three General Motors dealerships.
Karol Igou of Protectors Insurance LLC in Medford has received the Award of Excellence from Safeco Insurance for the third year in a row. The award goes to agents with superior underwriting skills who have developed a solid underwriting partnership with Safeco.
