Interstate 5 crash kills Glendale man

A motor vehicle crash that killed a Glendale man Saturday morning on Interstate 5 near Glendale is still under investigation by Oregon State Police.

The exact time of the crash has not yet been confirmed.

Police said William Allen Furia, 33, lost control of his 1997 GMC Sonoma for an unknown reason near milepost 79, traveled off the road and over the guardrail before coming to rest next to a large tree about 100 feet down a steep embankment.

No one else was in the vehicle.

A motorist heading northbound saw the vehicle down the embankment at 7:30 a.m. and called police.

Emergency officials pronounced Furia dead at the scene.
