Medford comics artist to sign works

Renowned comics artist and television animator Mike Royer will sign his works 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Village Books, 291 E. Barnett Road, Medford.

Royer worked on the "Magnus," "Robot Fighter," and "Tarzan" comic books. He also adapted titles like "Speed Buggy," and "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid."

Royer also worked as a letterer and inker under comic book writer Jack Kirby, who co-created the Marvel Comics character Captain America.

He also worked for Disney in the Creative Department of Consumer Product/Licensing Division.

Royer currently lives in Medford.

The event is free and open to all. Royer's art, books and comics will be for sale and he will sign them.
