The senior linebacker, a stalwart on the Panthers’ strong defense all season, laid a big hit to force a fumble that resulted in a touchdown return against No. 2 Lake Oswego in the Class 6A second round. The defense kept South in it for most of two quarters before a 41-14 loss.
Adrian Garcia, South Medford football
The senior receiver/defensive back scored both Panther touchdowns in a 41-14 Class 6A second-round loss to No. 2 Lake Oswego. Garcia scooped up a fumble and returned it 45 yards for a 7-0 lead. His TD catch finished the scoring, covering 11 yards.
Dane Scott, Cascade Christian football
The senior center was at the heart of a Challengers offense that ran for 441 yards in a 52-13 Class 3A state quarterfinal win over Pleasant Hill. Cascade Christian averaged more than 10 yards per carry.

The senior running back ran for 351 yards and scored six touchdowns in a Class 3A state quarterfinal win over Pleasant Hill, 52-13. He had a 75-yard punt return and scoring runs of 34, 44, 45, 55 and 65 yards. He carried 15 times and played three quarters.
