  • George Stanley Compton, (known to most as Stan) of Medford, Ore. passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer, followed by other resulting complications.
Stan graduated college at Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington, Ill. He then served in the U.S. Navy. He later worked for Fender Guitar Company back in the heyday of its beginning. He was well-liked by his peers and clients, and was often involved with the artists and the creative process of many recordings.
Stan is survived by two nieces, Wendy Swope, of Arizona, and Melissa Santos, of Calif.; brother-in-law, Jack Carlson, of Sacramento; and sister-in-law, Tannis Susan Carlson, of Medford. Stan also has a granddaughter and a great granddaughter, both residing here in Medford. Another granddaughter resides in Calif.
As of now, a memorial service has not been scheduled. The family would suggest that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives.
