Jackson County deputy surveyor Scot Fein was officially appointed to the department's top post today.
The Jackson County Board of Commissioners appointed Fein officially, following a recommendation from County Administrator Danny Jordan. Fein had managed the surveyor's office following surveyor Kerry Bradshaw's July death in a car crash.
"We're impressed with his knowledge and effort," said Commissioner John Rachor.
Fein won the Nov. 6 election, taking almost 50 percent of the votes in a three-way race. He will start his official four-year term Jan. 7, 2013.
