Registration for the Salvation Army's Christmas assistance program will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 27 and Dec. 4, and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, in the former site of the Kid Time! Discovery Zone, 226 N. Ross Lane, Medford.
For the second year, the building's owner, Batzer Construction, is donating the use of the building to the Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army's Christmas program includes food for a Christmas dinner and toys for children 12 years of age and younger. Those wishing to receive help should bring identification for all family members along with income verification and proof of residence.
In 2011, nearly 6,000 individuals, including 2,932 children, received Christmas assistance.
Christmas distribution will be held Dec. 19-20 at 226 N. Ross Lane. It will take hundreds of volunteers from the community to make Christmas happen for needy families in Jackson County. Volunteer opportunities include counting, sorting, and bagging toys and food, as well as assisting on distribution days.
