  • A Medford man was shot in the leg by an acquaintance Saturday night, prompting a friend to rush him to the hospital where he underwent surgery to remove a bullet.
Raymond Lloyd Young, 29, of the 600 block of North Riverside Avenue, is no longer listed as a patient at Providence Medford Medical Center, hospital officials said. Police reported that he was initially taken there following the incident.
The shooting happened just after 8 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Los Arcos, a Mexican restaurant in the 1500 block of Sage Road, police said. Investigators said Young was involved in an argument with a man he knew by first name only and that man shot him with a handgun before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. Police said the two weren't customers or employees of the restaurant.
"We're still trying to figure out the identity of the shooter," Medford police Lt. Mike Budreau said.
Budreau added the suspect and Young know each other and that the cause for the dispute between them is still under investigation.
"There's not a lot of information right now," Budreau said.
Anyone with information about the cased should call the Medford police Criminal Investigations Division at 541-774-2230.
