CASA of Jackson County will have Giving Tree locations throughout the county through Dec.10 to help provide gifts to children living in foster care.
The CASA Giving Tree campaign seeks donations of such things as new toys, pajamas and gift cards.
The court-appointed special advocates, who help the children through the process, often buy presents for them, but need the community's support to help all the children.
CASA Giving Tree locations include: Medford Builder's Exchange, Dogs for the Deaf, Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Lithia Nissan, Lithia Honda, Harry & David Country Village, Harry & David Corp., La Strada Boutique, Southern Oregon University's Athletic Department, the Medford library, Lithia Motors' headquarters, Salon Avalon, Thai Bistro, Home Federal banks, the Santo Community Center and 19 Dutch Bros. locations. Donors will be able to pick out a CASA ornament with information on what is needed for the child listed on the ornament.
Comics artist and television animator Mike Royer will sign his works from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Village Books, 291 E. Barnett Road, Medford.
Royer, of Medford, worked on the "Magnus," "Robot Fighter" and "Tarzan" comic books. He also adapted titles such as "Speed Buggy" and "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid."
Royer worked as a letterer and inker under comic book writer Jack Kirby, who co-created the Marvel Comics character Captain America.
The event is free.
