A free night of youth hockey will be offered from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink, across the street from Lithia Park.

A free night of youth hockey will be offered from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink, across the street from Lithia Park.

The event, hosted by Ashland Parks and Recreation, is for children ages 5 through 12 years old. Attendees will be separated by age and skill level, but every group will have ice time.

The first 10 youth attendees also will receive a $5 discount for hockey lessons taught by Ashland Parks officials.

Parents should make sure their children bring a helmet, elbow, knee and shin pads, gloves, a hockey stick and their skates.
