More windy weather on the way

Winds up to 30 mph with 40 mph gusts are predicted for Wednesday, Nov. 28, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a wind advisory for Jackson County from 4 a.m. until 4 p.m. that day.

A wind advisory means winds anywhere from 25 to 39 mph are expected for the area.

Wednesday's winds will come from the southeast as a front moves into the region. The Rogue and Shasta valleys will both be affected, weather officials said.

Additional winds could follow into Thursday, Nov. 29.

"Travel may be difficult due to sporadic wind gusts. Loose objects may also be blown about," an NWS statement released this morning reads.

In addition, anywhere from 2 to 4 inches of precipitation are expected for Southwest Oregon Thursday and Friday, with up to 9 inches predicted for nearby Curry County. There is a potential for rivers in the region to flood, but the exact rise in levels is not yet known.
