The man who allegedly fired a small-caliber handgun at a home on the 6000 block of Truax Road in Central Point Tuesday has turned himself in to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
According to a press release, Andrew Caucutt, 24, of Central Point turned himself in today. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on an attempted second-degree assault charge and is being held without bail.
A witness to the reported shooting told investigators that Caucutt, riding in the passenger seat of a red, 1993 BMW 3 series car, pulled out a gun and fired it at the home, then the car raced away.
The car, with Oregon license plate 385 BSD and chrome rims, has not yet been located.
The case is still under investigation. Anyone with information about this case or the car is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 541-774-6800.
