PRINEVILLE, Ore. — The century old Rager Ranger Station in the Ochoco National Forest is closing Friday.
Four employees stationed there are being relocated to the Paulina Ranger District office in Prineville.
Supervisor Kate Klein announced earlier this year that budget cuts were forcing the closure.
Klein told KTVZ timber sales, grazing permits, recreation and firefighting activities will be managed from the Prineville office.
Rager was established in 1908 and was one of the Forest Service's most remote year-round ranger stations.
