Whatever the weather, Medford Parks and Recreation's Winter Light Festival brightens up downtown today.
At 5 p.m. a children's holiday parade marches from Hawthorne Park, where there will be candy canes and a marshmallow roast starting at 4 p.m., to Vogel Plaza where the Christmas tree stands. The grand illumination of the 40-foot Douglas fir adorned with 12 dozen ornaments and more than 2,000 individual light bulbs happens around 5:30 p.m.
Other fun at the plaza includes live music, a visit from Santa, costumed mascots, hot chocolate and more candy.
