Hugh Hastings Judd Jr., loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones Saturday morning November 17, 2012. Hugh was third born to Hugh and La Vera Judd in Rupert, Idaho February 3, 1924.
His many varied interests included his love of music, airplanes, photography, science, nature, and daily physical activity, all of which he shared with his family and others and enjoyed throughout his life.
A true patriot, his love for America always shined through as he reflected on his service to this great country. Upon high school graduation, Hugh joined the U.S. Army Air Corps and became a technician who kept the planes in the air, serving in England and France during World War II. Afterward, he met and married his beloved sweetheart, Jeanne B. Peterson, graduated from the University of Idaho College of Forestry, and embarked on his lifelong career as a forestry consultant, thoroughly enjoying a lifetime spent in the beautiful outdoors of the Pacific Northwest.
While raising their family of seven children, Hugh and Jeanne lived in Idaho, Nevada, and several towns in Oregon, ultimately settling in Medford. Hugh served alongside his wife for many years as a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He brought much joy, humor, and happiness to all of his family and friends and will be greatly missed as he goes on to join his wife of 63 years who he loved and adored all his days.
Funeral service is Friday, December 7, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the LDS church located at 2305 Taylor Road, Central Point, Ore. Interment at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
