    John P. Anderson, 95, passed away at the VA Hospital in Tucson, Ariz. November 16, 2012. He was born July 19, 1917, in Philadelphia, Penn. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII at Anzio Beach receiving a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
    John lived in Lakewood, Calif. where he was the Acting Postmaster of the Lakewood Post Office. In 1962, he moved to Medford, Ore. working at Sears for 21 years before retiring. He was past president of the Jackson County Fair Board, past president of the Arabian Horse Assoc. of So. Oregon and past president of the Half-Arabian Horse Assoc. of Rogue Valley So. Oregon.
    He is survived by his wife, Patti; daughters, Sherry Honza (Brett) and Melody Biley; grandson, Adam Biley; and step-daughters, Rene Kesgard (Pat) and Joanne Anderson; and four step-grandchildren. John will be interred in the National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Ore. Donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans of America.
